印度傳統靜默日Mauni Amavasya_斯瓦米韋達給大家的信

印度傳統上每年有一天的靜默日,稱為Mauni Amavasya, Mauni 意為靜默的或為了靜默,而amavasya意思是月蝕之日。

印度年曆中的Maagha月份(西洋月曆的一二月)中的月蝕之日,太陽和月亮會同時進入魔羯星座(Makara rashi)

傳統上這一天也是摩努(Manu),第一位地球上出現的原人,他迎娶夏塔茹帕(Shata-roopa,據傳擁有百種美形)的日子,然後才有人類的起源。

今年這一天落在西洋日曆中的一月三十日

去年的這一天也是偉大大壺節的一部分,當天阿拉哈巴德三聖河匯流處(sangam),擁入了三千萬人參加神聖的聖浴。
不管你是否相信摩努的故事,我們都需要每年有一個這樣的靜默日。

另外,如果你比較能接受西洋史,你們可以去研究是否在同一天,也是希臘祭祀荷波卡拉帖斯Harpokrates, 希臘的靜默之神的日子,他的雕像遠至干達拉國(阿富汗的古名)都能被看見。荷波卡拉帖斯源自埃及的神Harpa-khruti,孩童荷魯斯,象徵每天新生的太陽,光的源頭。

當然,還有許多的基督教聖人都被教導靜默,各種社會文化不同的修道院也都有靜禱的傳統。

我正在五年的靜默誓約中,希望我的朋友們,也能至少在一年空出一天與我ㄧ同靜默,如同我們過去十年每次滿月共同靜坐一般。

所以,請記得,2014的靜默日在1302015年則在120日。

如果你現在開始計畫,你可以安排你在世俗的事情不會干擾你這一天的靜默練習。

在那一天,不開車(除非有緊急事件),不看電視,不交談,僅做自我的觀察,沉思,持咒和學習這兩件事情: (1)在靜默中給予愛 (2)學習愛上靜默

容我邀請所有的斯瓦米,啟引者,靈性導師,老師,各中心領導人仁慈的把這個觀念普化,並用這一年幫人們為接受一天靜默誓約做準備。

在生活中實踐瑜珈

讓瑜珈落實到生活中,幫助我們走出悲傷

最近週遭朋友發生好多事情,有朋友的老公突然意外不治離開人間,留下一雙好可愛的稚齡兒女,也有朋友,小孩被醫生診治要讓家長擔心一輩子的症狀,愛成了肩上好重的甜蜜負擔,還有朋友和論及婚嫁的對象突然分手,選擇自己療傷,但心痛卻無淚假裝堅強讓人心疼。

人生有好多時刻,重擊突然降臨,來不及準備,來不及說暫停,來不及把一直藏在口袋寫滿愛意的詩篇朗誦給摯愛的對方,但生活的時鐘,卻不會因為這些事故對我們稍微放慢,讓我們有時間處理傷口,好好思索,暫時包紮傷口放下生活重擔然後再重新開始,因此,好多好多的狀況無情的陸續發生,無法反應對抗,只能拖著步伐,撐著柺杖,繼續前行.....

但,這也就是人生,這也就是幾乎無人可以倖免的在世的重重考驗。

親愛的朋友,我想對你們說,記得瑜珈墊上那個練習,記得你的呼....吸.....提醒那個覺知自己生命跳動就是最大的恩賜的感恩,每一個生命的關口,每當自己懷疑自己喘不過氣的時刻,給自己一個雙臂擁抱自己,然後大口呼吸,即便和著眼淚,即便裹著傷痛,請你保持和呼吸的連結,即便失去全世界,即便你責怪神對你不公平,請你繼續保持每一口呼吸的覺知,把注意力放到每一個參予呼吸的鼻,肺,肺泡,橫隔膜,心臟,血管,細胞,這麼多由宇宙能量顯化在你身上的每一處,那份氣息,那份維持你活下去的氣息,不要忘記這些,這些會一起幫助你度過,如同幫助過許多其他人.....

瑜珈不是練習如何倒立,你去馬戲團可以找到很多倒立在大象鼻子上的專業表演工作者,瑜珈就是幫助我們練習和生命能量接軌,即便你因為種種原因,必須暫時離開瑜珈墊,但不要忘了生活中的練習,因為那才是你每天要面對的挑戰。

我曾在極度悲傷的情況下,沿著海岸含著眼淚一路狂奔,只因為,我的友人告訴我,Run, 去感覺自己的心跳,當時我還沒接觸瑜珈,只好用這樣的方式提醒自己的存在,加油,加油,如果你有機會看到這篇文章,又剛好面臨生活的遽變,請你,每天一定給自己時間,去經驗,真正的,充分的,每個覺知都參予的呼吸.................

願所有瑜珈慈悲上師的能量幫助你,祝福妳!

Recently a lot of things happen to my friends. A friend’s husband died suddenly and unexpectedly left the earth, leaving a pair of adorable young children behind. Another friend, her/his child was diagnosed a serious symptoms which could make parents worry about a lifetime. Love has become such a heavy yet sweet burden. Another friend recently broke up with ones boyfriend. They were almost engaged. My friend chooses to hide sad feeling and heal by oneself, but I know my friend's heart is broken......

There are many moments in life hit suddenly upon us, leave us no time to prepare, no time to say stop please, too late to read love poems to. The time of clock keep running, it shows no mercy to us. It gives us no time to deal our wound. Duty keep coming, no time to take a break..........

However, this is life; everyone has to pass some test during one’s life.

Dear friends, I want to say to you, remember what you have practiced at yoga mat, remember your inhale, and exhale during the practice. Do remind yourself that being able to breath is the miracle of life.

Whenever we feel that we could not breathe, give yourself a hug by your own arms, not depends on the others. Take a big breath even tears is flowing, even wrapped in grief. Don't forget your links with your breathing. Even you lost the whole world, even you may blame God is unfair to you, please continue to keep every breath awareness, put attention on each participating parts of your body and mind. Through the breathing of nose, lungs, alveoli, diaphragm, heart, blood vessels, cells, so much outer and inter organs and energy from the universe manifested in your gross body. That’s the signs of God is not abandon on you.  Every single cells and prana in your body will maintain your breath to live. Do not forget , these will help you to go through every challenge in life, just like these have been helped many others.

The practice of yoga is not all about how to do headstand or handstand. It is to help us to practice yoga in daily life, good time and bad time. If you have to leave the regular yoga class for any reason, it’s ok. But don’t stop practicing in your own daily life. That’s more important.

If you have the opportunity to see the article, and just facing rapid change of life, please, give yourself some time every day , to experience the real breath, the full breath, the breath with your whole body and mind. Give yourself a chance to feel better........... ......

最精要的本質就是真理。你應該只有一個慾望,就是見到真理的面目。你要認同的是真理的面目,而不是五光十色的世界,後者只會消耗你的精力。心念越是不定,慾望就越多,生起的貪戀就越強,就越是捲入慾望的漩渦,那你就永遠得不到平靜。

Your essential nature is truth. You should have only one desire, to see the face of truth. Identify with the face of truth, not with the glittering rays of the world that completely dissipate your energy. The more scattered your mind is, the more desires you have to fulfill, the more attachments you create and the more you lnad into a whirlpool of desires that will never allow you to be at peace.

派坦迦利說,能嚴格奉行勿暴之人,在他的面前,旁人都會放下所有的敵意。如果你的心念,言語,行為都能夠虔誠地遵守非暴力,在你的面前,即使是最兇殘的野獸也會平靜下來。....

在我11歲的時候,瑞悉克詩城是個很不一樣的地方。那個時候沒有這麼多汙染和人口,大部分地方都是森林。有一天,我和上師在恆河浸浴過後,他帶我去附近的毗爾琶達拉古廟打坐。我還是個孩子,坐了一陣子就會打開眼睛瞄一下。忽然我發現一條眼鏡蛇坐在離我只有一公尺之處。我嚇壞了!趕緊我把眼睛閉上,試著去冥想,但是我只能想到那條蛇。我鼓起勇氣把眼睛睜開一條縫,可是每次我看出去,那條蛇老是靜靜地坐在我前面。我決定等蛇一走就起身。原本是來打坐的,可是整個過程,我的心思就懸在那條蛇上。過了一段時間,我實在怕得再也坐不住了,準備要起身逃走。上師感覺到我的不安,就問:「你在作什麼?」 「我旁邊坐了一條眼睛蛇,你還問我在作什麼?你要我死嗎?」 他可絲毫沒有失去鎮定,回答:「若你入到靜坐的狀態,即使是在你身邊的動物都會保持平靜,因為靜坐的力量很強大。你不用逃。」 幾分鐘之後,那條眼鏡蛇靜靜地滑走了。然後上師告訴我,35年之後,我將會在那個地方起一座道院。我早就把這件事給忘光了,直到35年後,我在瑞悉克詩城開工興建道院,才又想起來。

Patanjali says, ahimsa pratishthayam tat samniddhau vairatyagah(When one is firly established in ahimsa, others let go of any hostility in that person's presence). If you sincerely follow ahimsa with mind, action and speech, even the most ferocious animal will become calm and quiet in your presence. .....

When I was just 11 years of age. Rishikesh was very different than it is today. At that time it was not polluted or crowded and it was mostly forests. One day after taking a dip in the Ganges, my master took me to the nearby Virbhadra temple to meditate. I was still a child, so naturally I kept opening and closing my eyes after every few minutes. Once when I openned my eyes I was horrified to see a cobra sitting just one meter away from me! My Lord, I became so afraid! I closed my eyes again and tried to meditate, but I could only meditate on the cobra. I dared to open my eyes only a slit and every time I did so I saw that the cobra was still calmly sitting there. I decided I would get up as soon as the cobra went away. The whole time I was supposed to be meditating I actually was thinking about and meditating on that cobra. After some time I was so frightened I could wait no longer and I started to get up to run away. Sensing my restlessness my master asked, "What is the matter with you?"

"A cobra is sitting next to me and you ask what's the matter with me? Do you want me to die?"

Without losing his composure he replied,"When you are in a meditative state, even animals around you will remain calm because meditation is very powerful. There is no need to run away."

A few minutes later the cobra quietly alithered away. Then my master told me I would have an ashram at that site after 35 years. I completely forgot about that incident until 35 years later when i started to build my ashram at Rishikesh. ~from Chapter 13 of Sadhana, Swami Rama

斯瓦米拉瑪年輕的時候, 印度的報紙曾登出一張他在河邊靜坐, 鱷魚就安靜地環繞在他身邊的照片, 也使這位年輕的修行人聲名大噪, 這份從內心散發出來非暴力的愛,令許多猛獸折服的例子不勝枚舉,鱷魚,書中說的眼鏡蛇,還有老虎和斯瓦米拉瑪同過獨木橋的故事,寫下許多實證開悟大師拉瑪的傳奇....

瑜珈是實證的科學,沒有經驗的人寫的瑜珈經是理論,斯瓦米拉瑪是在三摩地最高境界,Maha Samadhi中捨身,由他來闡述瑜珈經,是經驗的傳承,有心修行不管是否為瑜珈練習者,或者其他宗教,都不能錯過的一本好書!
